MEXICO, Pampanga – The Pampanga I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PELCO I) has conducted yesterday “Operation Big Birds”, a free-circumcision activity and one of the electric power firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programs.

The said endeavour, which benefited 120 young boys-sons of PELCO I member-consumers from the towns of Arayat, Candaba, Magalang, Mexico, San Luis and Sta. Ana, was aimed at helping them have their circumcision as they enter adulthood.

Aside from the free circumcision, PELCO I also distributed free medicines such as antibiotics and pain relievers to the beneficiaries. The beneficiaries were likewise given free seminar on circumcision, proper cleaning and personal hygiene, free snacks and transportation.

In an interview with one of the young boys circumcised said, “Pasalamat kami pung maragul keng PELCO I uling dininan na kami pung libring tuli ampong panulu at maragul ya pung saup kekami ini”. (We are profusely thanking PELCO I for giving us free circumcision and medicines which are of great help for us).

PELCO I General Manager Loliano E. Allas said that the activity is just one among the other CSR Projects of PELCO I which benefits member-consumers of the electric cooperative.

The operation Big Birds was made successful through the assistance and participation of the University of the Assumption, College of Nursing, headed by its dean Ms. Anele Mallari and the Mexico Rural Health Unit 3 headed by Dr. Ernesto Regala, its Rural Health Physician.
